2017 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV: 10 things you should know

We dissect the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV plug-in hybrid SUV to tell you how much it costs, why you should consider avoiding the 5h trim and those all-important efficiency figures.

If proof was ever needed to show how much Brits love big cars but want to keep costs down (or maybe look after the plane a bit), the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV would be perfect. Because it has become the best-selling hybrid in the UK and rarely do SUVs get as big.

No wonder, then, Mitsubishi has done what it can to keep the Outlander PHEV ahead of the pack. It was updated in 2016 and here we are in 2017 with yet another mild refresh.

We had a fear the latest Outlander PHEV would be a bit awful, but it seems the British public was onto something because it can serve a family with lots of space, practicality, reasonable looks and can avoid touching a drop of fuel on really short journeys.

We went as far as giving it a solid four stars for the base model, which can be had for not a lot of money considering what it can do. The interior could be better and it lacks the desirability of its rivals, it must be said, but then neither will be a huge deal for some punters.

Anyway let’s avoid spoiling the video too much. You can read our 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV review here or keep on scrolling down to see it in action. Be sure to give us a subscribe while you are there for more where that came from.
