Aston Martin has confirmed official specifications and pricing for its next flagship vehicle, the new Vanquish.

The new Vanquish will go on sale in late 2012.
The new Vanquish will go on sale in late 2012.

The car will ride on the next generation of the company’s VH architecture and will use a significantly upgraded version of the now familiar 6-litre V12 engine. As expected, this massive lump will chuck out a considerable amount of power. It’s capable of producing 565bhp at 6,750rpm and 621Nm (457Nm) of torque, second only to the limited edition One-77.

The car will come with launch control, which will help it achieve a 0-62mph time of 4.1 seconds and it’ll keep transmitting that grunt via a rear-mid mounted six-speed Touchtronic 2 automatic sequential gearbox until it reaches a maximum speed of 183mph.

Brakes are of the carbon ceramic variety — 398mm six-pot items at the front and 360mm four-piston discs at the rear. It’ll come with a dynamic stability control system with a track mode that lets you explore the limits of sensibility without risking life and limb, ABS, EBA, PTC not to mention plenty of that all-important wow factor.

Inside, the new Vantage will come as standard with full-grain leather, alcantara headlining, electrically oeprated front seats, a 2+0 seating configuration, front and rear parking sensors, cruise control, tyre pressure monitor, alarm and immoniliser, heated front seats, curtain side head airbags, pelvis and thorax seat mounted airbags, a trip computer, a tracking device, and a heated rear screen.

Aston Martin says it will also be possible to add an optional 1,000-watt Bang & Olufsen BeoSound 15-speaker audio system, Garmin sat-nav, and a Wi-Fi hub.

Prices start at £189,995 and deliveries will begin in Europe in late 2012.
