Aston Martin Zagato: Meet the 592bhp concept beauty

Aston Martin and Zagato have teamed up to create the cunningly named Aston Martin Zagato concept, which debuted at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa D’Este.

The Aston Martin Zagato uses the Vanquish V12 as a basis, but the naturally aspirated V12 has been given a healthy boost to 592bhp (600 PS if you prefer). That and what Aston calls ‘enhanced driving dynamics’.

Details of the performance are being kept under wraps but Aston Martin was keen to share details of how it looks. It has been designed by Aston’s Marek Reichman and Zagato’s Andrea Zagato and features a rather stunning exterior.

Revised rear lights, a quad-exit exhaust, retractable spoiler, carbon fibre sills and the sort of drool-inducing profile Zagato is known for makes it one of the best looking Aston Martin concepts of all time, if not the best. There are also various nods to the One-77 and the Vulcan.

It will be built at Aston’s Gaydon factory in the UK and “represents the essence of an important design relationship that dates back over 50 years,” according to Mr Zagato, but you are probably not too bothered about that. You want to see how it looks, surely?

Previous Aston Martin and Zagato collaborations include the DB4 GT Zagato and the Virage Shooting Brake. Zagato was also responsible for the stunning Mostro, which was built to celebrate Maserati’s 100th birthday.
