The Jaguar XF Sportbrake, the company’s first estate in quite some time, will arrive in the UK at the end of 2012 for a starting price of £31,940.
The entry-level Sportbrake Business SE model will use a 2.2-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine with 163PS. This will return 55.4mpg, emit 135g/km of CO2 and have a handsome 400Nm of torque to help it get about — 0-60mph is promised in 9.8 seconds.
A slightly more powerful 200PS version of the engine will also be available, with prices starting at £36,440. This increases torque to 450Nm and drops the 0-60mph sprint time to 8 seconds without affecting fuel economy or emissions.
If you want even more performance, Jaguar can also supply a 3-litre V6 diesel with 240PS (£38,355). It’ll alo sell a hotted up Diesel S variant with 275PS. This will cost a wallet-frightening £44,355 but it’ll do 0-60mph in 5.9 seconds, returns 47mpg and has access to a quite bountiful 600Nm of toque.
If diesel isn’t your thing, the Jaguar XF Sportbrake will also have an optional 3-litre V6 petrol engine with 340PS and 450Nm. It gets to 60mph a mere 0.2 seconds quicker than the Diesel S, but fuel economy drops to 30mpg.
The Jaguar XF Sportbrake will go on sale towards the end of 2012. Start saving your pennies.
