Meet the Lexus RC F, the most powerful production V8 Lexus coupe ever

The Lexus RC F is about to hit UK streets, with pricing, equipment specs and a release date set in stone.

What is the Lexus RC F, you ask? Well it’s only Lexus’ most powerful production V8 coupe ever, no big deal. How much power? Only about 450 horses and 383 lb-ft from a big old 5.0-litre V8. Rear wheel drive, that sort of thing. It’ll go head to head with the likes of the BMW M4 Coupe, and Mercedes C Class AMG.

The Lexus FC F will be released in the UK in two flavours: RC F and RC F Carbon. On-the-road prices start from £59,995 for the RC F, or £67,995 for the slightly more badass RC F Carbon. Both models include Brembo brakes, sachs monotube shocks, an active rear spoiler, 19-inch forged alloys and a front grille that looks as if it could swallow a medium-sized dog, all as standard.

Want more stuff? No problem; you also get LED headlights for both high and low beam (with auto high beam function; a 10-speaker multimedia system with DAB, DVD player, a Remote Touch touchpad control, sat-nav, dual-zone climate control and a Drive Mode Select function that lets you adjust the sportiness of the thing.

The Lexus RC F Carbon comes with, as the name suggests, lots of carbon bodywork, on the roof, rear spoiler and bonnet. It also includes a torque-vectoring differential, allegedly a first for a front-engined, rear-wheel-drive car. Carbon cars also come with unique 19-inch alloys, heated front seats, an upgraded Mark Levinson Surround Sound system, adaptive cruise conrol and pre-crash safety system.

Order books for both cars are open now, with first deliveries commencing from January 2015.
