2013 marks McLaren’s Golden Jubilee. The company has been tearing up tarmac for 50 years now and to celebrate, it’s building a special Anniversary Edition of its 12C and 12C Spider.

The McLaren 50 12C and 50 12C Spider, as they’re to be known, will feature a set of specification upgrades and styling tweaks to mark the Mc Daddy’s birthday on September 2, 2013. The cars will feature remodelled front bumpers developed using computational fluid dynamics to increase front downforce levels, carbon fibre around the air intakes, a front floor made from carbon Kevlar and a black McLaren F1-inspired heritage badge.
Elsewhere, the McLaren 50 12C and 12C Spider feature carbon fibre turning vanes, carbon ceramic brakes as standard and satin black McLaren 50 Ultralight wheels (19s at the front and 20s at the back) that save 2kg over the optional super lightweight wheels. Bodywork, meanwhile, is finished in a choice of Carbon Black, Supernova Silver or heritage McLaren Orange.
Inside, the McLaren 50 12C and 12C Spider get a full leather upgrade and an anniversary dedication plate on the driver’s door. Not much there, then, but McLaren wil also throw in a monogrammed black and silver car cover, a limited edition key in a carbon fibre presentation key box and a print signed by McLaren Automotive Design Director, Frank Stephenson.
The McLaren 50 12C will cost £196,000, while the 50 12C Spider will set you back £215,000. Check out the pictures below.
