Mercedes has announced a price and UK specifications for the new AMG C 63 Saloon and Estate. Prices start from £59,575 for the most basic model. Orders are open now in time for a Spring 2015 arrival.
The 2015 Mercedes-AMG C 63 Saloon and Estate, which replaces the C 63 AMG, are available in standard or ‘S’ trim levels. Both feature the same new 4.0-litre V8 Biturbo, with the standard car getting 476hp and 650Nm of torque, while the S gets a healthier 510hp and 700Nm.
All that oomph propels the C 63 Estate from 0 to 62mph in 4.2 seconds, a tenth of a second slower than the Saloon. The C 63 S Estate and Saloon, meanwhile, does the same in 4.1 and 4 seconds, respectively.
Fuel economy is at its worst for the C63 Estate, which manages a not too shabby 33.6mpg. The C63 Saloon is the most fuel economical, at 34.5mpg. CO2 emissions are 192g/km for the Saloon and 196g/km for the Estate.
Standard equipment for the C 63 includes Nappa leather AMG sports seats, AMG three-spoke steering wheel, Merc’s COMAND infotainment system, AMG braking system, 18-inch alloy wheels, quad tailpipes and a body-coloured rear spoiler.
The C63 S ups the ante with 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels and an improved braking system with 390mm discs at the front, 360mm discs at the rear and red brake calipers for a sportier look. There’s also AMG Performance Seats twinned with Crystal Grey seat belts to park your bum on.
Both the C 63 and C 63 S can be upgraded with a plethora of (expensive) goodies, including a head-up display, AMG ceramic composite braking system, AMG exhaust system and a Burmester surround sound system.
For those with deeper pockets, the C 63 S Edition 1 – a first for the UK – is even more generously specced. It adds 19-inch AMG forged alloy wheels, AMG carbon fibre trim on the centre console, Keyless Start and Keyless Entry, the aforementioned 590w Burmester 13-speaker sound system and the Night Package, which means all the aluminium is painted black.
Prices start from £59,575 for the C 63 Saloon rising to £67,745. for the C63 S Estate. The Edition 1 version starts from £73,500.
