If the recent, seemingly unrelenting heatwave, has given you the urge to spend more time in the great outdoors, then you might be in luck. Mini has unveiled a trio of new campervan-based concept cars designed with glampers in mind.
The Clubvan Camper is perhaps the most niche of the three. It provides enough room to sleep one and includes a Mini-branded t-shirt, duvet, pillow and cuddly toy thrown in for good measure. It even comes with its own kitchenette with a stove and a fridge, plus a hand-held shower with a water tank housed underneath the floor.
The Mini Cowley is for those who are fortunate enough have the company of another human being. This tiny caravan attaches to your existing vehicle and provides enough room to sleep two, with all the mod cons one might expect from a typical bedroom. There's a small TV, a hi-fi, cupboards, and round the back, a two-burner stove and a small fridge, all of which fits into a package weighing less than 300kg.
The Countryman Camp is the oddest of Mini's three concepts. Based on a 4WD Countryman, it's ideal for heading off the beaten track and features a rooftop tent with a ladder to help you get in and out of the thing. Other additions include a bike rack that can house a pair of cycles, and a spare wheel that sits atop the tent.
Obviously Mini would be completely barking if it actually went ahead and built any of these, but it's nice looking at their pictures anyway.
