The Recombu Awards 2015 have been and gone (unlike our hangovers). Come this way to find out which four-wheeled machine won our Best Luxury Car award.
Performance is usually what most petrolheads care about, but some of us would rather savour a journey than set lap times – and what better way than in a luxury car?
The thing is, luxury comes in many forms as our varied shortlist proves, and that made picking a winner very difficult. The obvious answer would be the Rolls-Royce Ghost because it’s basically a manor house on wheels.
Then there’s the Bentley Mulsanne, which is another example of the pinnacle in luxury. Super smooth, extremely tasteful and made from the finest materials.
Mercedes-Benz is no stranger to making your journey as comfortable and satisfying as possible and the S-Class is about as good as it gets.
But this year BMW pulled a blinder in the form of the new 7 Series. It’s not only incredibly comfortable inside, but also packed to the rafters with luxury gadgets that will leave your passenger’s jaws on the floor. Case in point: The gesture-controlled stereo, 360-degree parking camera, touchstreen key and the Android tablet in the back, which lets you adjust the seats, control media and surf the Internet.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg. The BMW 7 Series is also bags of fun to drive and handles like no luxury car ought to.
