Say hello to the 360hp Porsche Macan GTS

Porsche has revealed the Macan GTS, a more powerful version of the Macan S that will go on sale in the UK and Ireland from the 28th of October, 2015.

The arrival of the Macan GTS means there is now a GTS version of all mainstream models available, including the larger Cayenne GTS sports utility vehicle and the 911 Carrera GTS.

Sitting below the Macan Turbo in the range, the Macan GTS uses the same 3.0-litre V6 twin turbo as its S sibling, but the power output has been increased by 20hp to 360hp, while torque is up to 369lb/ft (500Nm). A seven-speed PDK transmission takes care of the gears.

This gives it a 0-62mph time of 5.2 seconds, or five seconds with the optional Sport Chrono package. Top speed is 160mph, while fuel economy and CO2 emissions are said to be 31.4mpg and 212g/km, respectively.

Other extras fitted to the Macan GTS include 20-inch RS Spyder alloy wheels in matt black, a sports exhaust and the usual Porsche Traction Management, which can vary the amount of power sent to all four wheels to maximise traction.

It also gets a special version of the Sport Design styling package with ‘GTS-specific colouring’ and – for the first time in Macan history – the option of LED headlights.

Inside are GTS sport seats with Alcantara centre panels and yet more Alcantara throughout the interior. There’s also the Porsche Communication Management infotainment system with a touchscreen first seen in the 911, complete with Apple CarPlay support so you can link up your iPhone.

Standard equipment on the Macan GTS also includes front and rear ParkAssist, digital radio, multi-function steering wheel with shift paddles, electronic tailgate release, Bluetooth connectivity, USB port, three-year warranty and a three-year roadside assistance package.

Porsche unveiled the Macan GTS at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. Prices start from £55,188, £5,806 cheaper than the range-topping Macan Turbo and £10,552 more than the Macan S.
