Jaguar is attempting to combat the January blues with the announcement of the F-Type British Design Edition, an enhanced version of the 2017 V6 S Convertible and Coupe.
The Jaguar F-Type British Design Edition comes with unique branding in the form of British Design Edition badges on the front and rear of the body, while there’s ‘unique branding’ on the centre console, headrests and stainless steel treadplates.
Four paintjobs are available and three are inspired by the Union Jack flag, hence Caldera Red, Glacier White and Ultra Blue in addition to Ultima Black.
The Exterior Sport Design Pack, which is optional on the F-Type S, comes as standard, bringing with it a gloss black front splitter, body-coloured side sill extensions and rear venture and, in the case of the coupe, a fixed rear spoiler.
Another unique edition are the 20-inch Cyclone alloy wheels finished in satin dark grey, behind which lies Jaguar’s Super Performance Brake system with red or black calipers for improved stopping power.
The cockpit, meanwhile, benefits from 14-way sports seats with embossed headrests, Jet leather with contrast stitching in red, ivory or reims blue and carbon fibre on the centre console. Not only that, the 2017 edition of the F-Type has an additional eight litres of boot space.
Interior technology is better than in the F-Type S thanks to a 380w Meridian 10-speaker system linked to the InControl Touch infotainment system. A 770w Meridian surround sound system with 12 speakers and the InControl Touch Plus is optional.
Underneath the bonnet lies the same 3.0-litre supercharged V6 with 380PS and 460Nm (339lb/ft) of torque, which works in combination with the all-wheel drive system for a sprint of 0-62mph time of 5.1 seconds.
Prices start from £75,225 for the Coupe (a premium on the F-Type S AWD of £7,820) and £80,390 for the Convertible (up £7,500). Customer deliveries are expected to begin in the spring of 2016.
