A woman rented a Nissan Rouge 4×4 in Florida and was stunned to find an assault rifle in the back of the vehicle.
A WAG left a lethal AR-15 assault rifle in the back of her rental car, leaving the woman who rented the Nissan Rogue just a little bit shaken when she discovered it. Judith Fleissig, from New York, rented the vehicle and took it on a driving holiday in Florida. Her daughter noticed a strange bag in the back of the car, and opened it up to discover the rifle. An AR-15 assault rifle can fire up to 800 rounds per minute.
Ms Fleissig said: “We got out of the car, we were kind of freaked out. I didn’t want to touch it.” The rifle had been left in the car by model Lauren Tannehill, who is married to Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
She had only been in the vehicle for a few hours but had forgotten to remove the rifle. Because she legally owns the gun, Ms Tannehill will not face any charges. Broward sheriff’s spokeswoman Keyla Concepción said: “Though dangerous if it would have landed in the wrong hands, it’s not criminal. They simply forgot it.”
Last year CarInsurance.com carried out a survey and found that 63 per cent of the 1,500 Americans who borrowed a friend’s car admitted to snooping around the vehicle. 15 per cent said they found a gun.
