Feast your eyes on possibly the maddest, coolest and fastest quad bike ever, the Wasuma V8F Matte Black edition.
This fine-looking machine is the work of Lazareth, a French company that specialises in making head-turning rides for people with deep pockets.
The Wazuma V8F gets part of its name from its engine, which is a 3-litre 250bhp Ferrari V8 mated to a 6-speed sequential gearbox. That sort of output is a bit on the low side for a typical Ferrari, admittedly, bu it’s a bonkers amount of power on a quad bike.
Technically you could say the Wazuma is more car than quad bike because it has 18-inch Momo wheels with wide tyres, 324mm disc brakes and Brembo calipers to help it stop. However, unlike a car, there’s no bumper, roof or panelling to protect you. Fall off and it’s probably curtains.
As you would expect from a big engine strapped to a machine weighing less than 650kg, fast is an understatement. Creator Lazareth claims a top speed of 150mph and the sort of acceleration that would most embarrass cars, bikes and anything else with wheels, frankly.
This isn’t the maddest thing Lazareth has built. It’s also made a Mini that’s had its roof lopped off and a 3.6-litre V8 Range Rover engine fitted. Plus a Renault Twingo V8 and the Wazuma R1 snowmobile that would look at home in a Batman film.
So how much does death by quad bike set you back? About £150,000. Best get saving or hope Santa is feeling especially generous this year.
