Woman run over three times by own car

They say good things come in threes, but one newspaper delivery woman became an exception to the rule when she was run over by her own car three times.

The delivery driver apparently got confused by the difference between reverse and park.

The Canadian woman was going about her usual daily business delivering the French Le Nouvelliste newspaper in the area of Trois-Rivieres when it all started to go pear-shaped. She exited her automatic car, left the engine running and somehow managed to knock the vehicle into reverse, causing it to launch backwards. The unnamed victim was subsequently knocked under the car by the driver-side door.

As the vehicle circled back around, the lady desperately tried to clamber back into the moving car but was knocked under the wheels once again. Then, as the car came back around for a third pop, the lady tried the same again ─ but unfortunately she stumbled and the car drove over her one last time.

Repeated screams of pain alerted nearby residents, who dragged the woman’s bruised body to safety. Meanwhile, the vehicle continued to drive in a vicious, ever-widening circle until the police arrived at the scene and stopped its hit-‘n’-run rampage.

The woman suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Although some crucial details of the accident are unknown, it is believed the woman got in a muddle over the ‘park’ and ‘reverse’ gears.
