If you lack a smart TV or simply want to provide a second TV with streaming capability, there are a number of options out there and all of them are easy to install, not to mention cheap as Black Friday is here. Here are the best TV stick deals.

A quick side note: Your television will need an HDMI slot to plug each device in and access to a WiFI connection to give them the data they need to stream TV content. You may also need a spare plug socket. Batteries for the remote control tend to be included.

Amazon Fire TV Stick

The Amazon Fire TV Stick is a small media device that runs a version of Firefox OS. Once plugged in, the included remote lets you browse on-demand content from Netflix, Amazon Video and BBC iPlayer to name a few. A more expensive version with a voice-controlled remote is available. The Google Chromecast device lets you ‘cast’ what you see on an Android smartphone or tablet onto a television, whether that is Netflix, YouTube or even RealPlayer Cloud if you wish to stream your own stuff at up to 1080p. A 4K-enabled Chromecast is also available, but it costs the usual £69. On a related note, the Google Chromecast Audio device is going for a mere £15 at Currys.co.uk if you want to wirelessly transmit music to your speakers.

Amazon Fire TV Stick with 4K Ultra HD

 

Like the standard Amazon Fire TV Stick, except the Fire TV Stick 4K Ultra HD can offers up to 4K detail for watching 4K-enabled shows on a 4K-enabled television. It also has a faster processor so the menu is quicker to navigat, while an in-built microphone allows voice searches. Bear in mind the device is less portable than the standard Fire TV Stick, just in case you plan on lugging it around a lot.
