BT will move subscription channels like Sky Sports around on both the YouView and Vision programme guides next month.
The Sports, Kids and Extra subscription channels will be moved up from the 400-599 slot to 300-599, putting them closer in reach if you’re scrolling through the BT TV guides the old fashioned way.
Check out our review of BT TVYou can of course, make use of the search function to comb for individual channels or jump to specific sections on the YouView guide.
BT TV customers can get Sky Sports 1 and 2 for £16.50/month each or £22/month together with their subscription. You’ll also need take a BT Infinity package if you want to sign up for Sky Sports with BT.
All BT Sport channels – BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and EPSN – are included as standard, but if you want the channels in HD, you’ll need to pay an extra £3/month. Again, this is only available to folks who can get FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) at home and fork out for an Infinity package.
The updates will start rolling out from 9:00am on Tuesday, June 2 and should take no longer than 24 hours to reach all YouView boxes. A timescale for when the update will hit BT Vision boxes hasn’t been released.
While BT Vision isn’t available to buy from BT any more, existing BT customers who’ve not yet upgraded to a new YouView-based box will continue to get their TV service. While Vision has been discontinued, the BBC recently updated the creaky old version of iPlayer, bringing 30 day catch up to the crusty old platform.

Update: BT has now confirmed that the channels will start moving on BT Vision boxes on June 2.
