Virgin Media TiVo owners with a BT Sport subscription can now get the new BT Sport Extra channel for no additional cost.
The new BT Sport channel, which includes coverage of games from the Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Primera Liga and Brasileirao, can be accessed when watching either BT Sport 1 or BT Sport 2.
As BT Sport Extra doesn’t appear on the Virgin TV channel guide, you’ll need to head to BT Sport 1 and 2 at channel 547 and channel 548, BT Sport 1 HD on channel 549 and BT Sport 2 HD on channel 550 and hit the red button.
BT Sport Extra launched on Sky and BT TV last week for no extra cost. The extra channel lets you watch live games that clash with other fixtures on BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and ESPN.
Simon Green, head of BT Sport, said: “Reach is at the heart of BT Sport and we are continually looking at new ways to enhance our viewers’ experience.
“BT Sport Extra provides sports fans with access to even more live sporting action whether that’s on TV, via the red button, app or online.”
Dana Hashem, a Virgin Media spokesperson added: “Our TV customers love watching all the live sports action so we’re delighted to bring BT Sport Extra to Virgin Media. From today, Virgin Media TiVo customers can access the service through the red button and upcoming coverage of the WTA final, the World Series and International GT Open will be just a click away.”
BT Sport costs £15/month, which gives you access to BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and ESPN in SD and HD in addition to your Virgin TV subscription. If you’ve got Virgin Media’s top tier Virgin TV XL package, then you get BT Sport for free.
Upcoming fixtures on BT Sport Extra include Augsburg v Hertha Berlin from the German Bundesliga and Paranaense v Corinthians from Brasileirao Atletico at 2:30pm and 8:00pm respectively on September 28.
