BT has announced that its first UEFA Champions League and Europa League matches will be shown for free on BT Sport Showcase.
Inaugural matches for both leagues this season will both be available to watch for nothing on Freeview HD set-top boxes and TVs as well as other UK digital terrestrial TV platforms, like YouView and EE TV.
BT will be showing 12 Champions League matches on BT Sport Showcase (channel 59) this season, alongside 14 games from the Europa League.

In any case, the majority of BT’s UEFA coverage will end up on BT Sport Europe, which is available as part of the BT Sport Pack in standard definition and HD.
The BT Sport Pack is normally available as a £5/month add on to any BT Broadband service when you take BT TV, which costs either nothing, £7.50/month or £15/month depending on which TV package you go for. Provided you’ve got a BT Infinity FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) service you can get the same channels in HD for an extra £4/month.
As an added bonus, BT Sport Pack subscribers will also get to watch AMC from BT, a recently-launched drama channel that has AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead as it’s crown jewel.
For a limited amount of time, BT is offering the BT Sport Pack for no extra cost alongside an unlimited up to 17Mbps ADSL service and an unlimited up to 38Mbps Infinity 1 FTTC package.
These cost £10/month and £15/month each respectively plus line rental, which is charged at £17.99/month at the standard rate or at a discounted rate of £183.48/year.
Customers can also also stream matches live on the BT Sport app for iOS and Android and through a desktop player.
