Drama as BT gets every UKTV channel live and on catch-up. Yes, Really.

A new BT deal will see all ten UKTV channels including Dave, Home, Gold and Watch, heading to BT TV later this month.

The full line-up from UKTV – that’s Alibi, Dave, Drama, Eden, Gold, Good Food, Home, Really, Watch and Yesterday – will be available to all BT TV subscribers through the linear channel guide as well as through the UKTV Play on-demand app.

Thanks to BT TV’s YouView-powered interface, subscribers will also be able to scroll backwards in time to search for any missed programmes as well as opening up the on-demand menu.

This news will take the jam out of Virgin Media’s catch-up doughnut; until recently, the cable TV provider was the only company in the UK to offer subscribers all ten UKTV channels live and on catch-up.

Delia Bushell, managing director of BT TV and BT Sport, revealed that all of the channels would also be coming to the BT TV Everywhere catch-up service.

Available online (Silverlight required) and iOS and Android devices, BT TV customers who sign up for the Entertainment Plus (£10/month) or Entertainment Ultra HD (£15/month) packages can make use of BT TV Everywhere, BT’s equivalent of Sky Go or Virgin TV Anywhere.

To get either of these packages, you’ll need a BT Infinity FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet)-based service, currently available to over 80 per cent of UK premises

Darren Childs, CEO of UKTV added: “UKTV’s continued investment in original content has made our channels more popular with viewers than ever before.

“I’m delighted BT’s customers will now be able to enjoy programmes from across our network and watch great entertainment on demand with UKTV Play.”

Other than ‘later this month’ there’s no word yet on when Eden, Good Food and Home will touch down on BT TV.
