BT Vision remains the UK’s most complained about UK pay TV service, despite a fall in figures.
Sky and Virgin Media are still country miles away from BT in terms of customer complaints according to the latest survey from Ofcom.
The figures show that from April to June 2013, BT Vision generated the most complaints, 0.25 per 1,000 customers.
By contrast, 0.04 of every 1,000 customers complained about Virgin Media while just 0.02 customers per 1,000 complained about Sky.
Complaints about BT Vision are roughly around six times greater than the industry average.
Ofcom says that these are partially driven by problems with service provision and complaints handling. There’s been some confusion about the availability of sports. Some customers with BT Vision wouldn’t be able to watch Sky Sports if their broadband connections weren’t up to the job.
BT’s YouView-based platform has still yet to be received as warmly as TalkTalk TV has. You currently can’t record streaming channels on YouView, a feature which is expected to arrive at some point this Autumn as part of a software update.
