CES: LG adds Smart TV to more than half its range in 2012

LG Smart Remote & AppMore than half of LG’s new TV and Blu-ray products will have its Smart TV entertainment portal in 2012.

The Smart TV portal includes access to BBC iPlayer, LoveFilm and the new Netflix UK service – although not all products share the same line-up.

LG has also added WiFi across more than 70 per cent of its products, so it’s easier to connect to the internet.
Stephen Gater, LG’s consumer electronics marketing director, said: “LG is globally recognised for its cutting-edge technologies.

“We’re excited about our line-up this year – our premium range of new stylish TVs offers a true statement of style that people will be proud of having as the hub of their home.”

A new and improved Magic Remote is also included with some products – a Wii-style motion sensitive remote for games and browsing internet-style pages without a mouse – which now has additional Voice Recognition technology and a Browser Wheel.

LG’s Smart Share software and mobile apps have also been upgraded to make multi-screen viewing even simpler, enabling users to access content from their TVs and Blu-ray players on other devices.
