David Tennant stars in TalkTalk TV’s YouView Digital Theatre on-demand channel

Live performances from the likes of David Tennant, Catherine Tate and Jonathan Pryce are now available on-demand through TalkTalk TV’s new Digital Theatre channel.

Digital Theatre captures complete live plays in high definition using compact HD cameras, and they’re available from £3 each on TalkTalk TV.

The service launched on Samsung’s Smart TVs last year, and Recombu Digital was there to capture our own live performance by Digital Theatre co-founder Robert Delamere.

Read Recombu Digital’s Guide to YouView on TalkTalk and TalkTalk TVDelamere said: “We’re delighted to partner with TalkTalk and bring the best of British theatre to living rooms across the UK via the TalkTalk Player and our new Digital Theatre Channel.

“This is a unique opportunity for us to gain new audiences for our productions and the world class talent working in the British theatre scene.”

Highlights include David Tennant and Catherine Tate in Shakespeare’s Much Ado about Nothing, Jonathan Pryce in King Lear and a great new version of Ibsen’s The Doll’s House.

TalkTalk’s Tristia Clarke said: “Our unique on-demand theatre channel, brought to our customers via the TalkTalk Player, marks an important milestone in our drive to make great content affordable and accessible for all.”

It joins the Karaoke Channel – which is free on TalkTalk TV today (April 26) – and Concert TV, alongside on-demand and linear TV channels.

TalkTalk TV is available free to TalkTalk Plus broadband subscribers, who get a free Huawei YouView box, with subscriptions starting at £5/month and no annual TV contracts.
