Dreamworks’ Turbo spin-off FAST hitting Netflix on Christmas Eve

Turbo FAST, a spin-off cartoon based on Dreamworks’ current animated movie, will arrive on Netflix exclusively this Christmas Eve. 

The first five episodes of the Flash animated 26-episode series will follow the cast of characters from the movie about racing snail and his crew. 

Reed Scott who plays Dan Egan in Veep lends his voice to the titular character and Ken Jeong reprises his role from the feature film fan-favourite Kim Ly.

Chief content officer at Netflix Ted Sarandos said: “We are excited to be working with the gifted storytellers at DreamWorks Animation to deliver Turbo FAST, our first original kids series, to families around the world this holiday season. With new episodes on their way in the coming months, kids will have something to look forward to all year.” 

Netflix has splashed out on acquiring rights to show Disney and Marvel films exclusively in 2014 and other DreamWorks movies like Shrek, Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda have also been snapped up. 

Main rival Lovefilm Instant has made similar moves, obtaining rights to stream Batman and Superman as well as anime-style treatments of Marvel heroes including Wolverine, Blade and Iron Man.  

Netflix costs £5.99/month and is available on Windows and Mac, iOS, Android, selected games consoles, connected media devices and smart TVs.
