Film 4+1 launches on Freeview, YouView, TalkTalk TV and BT Vision

Film 4+1, the Film4 timeshift channel, has launched on Freeview.

Freeview boxes and TV sets across the country should be able to pick up the new channel today after a quick retune.

Film4+1 is already available on Sky, Virgin Media and Freesat and now Freeview viewers, as well as BT Vision, TalkTalk TV and YouView customers, are given an extra chance to catch-up on their favourites.

Film4+1 finally comes to digital terrestrial TV: Further filmic footage on Freeview

Read Recombu Digital’s guide to FreeviewIt’s a shame for anime fans that the channel launches midway through a Studio Ghibli season but you’ve always got the option of catching up with the likes of Porco Rosso, Princess Mononoke and others online.

After retuning, Freeview and other digital terrestrial viewers will be able to hop over to channel 45 to get Film4+1.

Local TV in Scotland and Wales was originally due to find a home on channel 45, but we’re now hearing that this may not be the case. Either that, or Film4+1 may have to move elsewhere on the channel listings to make way for the likes of ETV and Made In Cardiff
