Free TalkTalk Broadband for a year: How cheap is that?

TalkTalk is flogging its Internet-only SimplyBroadband package to new customers for NOTHING for 12 months.

Barring the cost of line rental – £16.70/month as standard – you’ll get an unlimited up to 17Mbps ADSL service for free for a year with the option of a free wireless router (£5 postage).

SimplyBroadband requires you to sign up for 18 months, so while you get that first year for free, you’ll have to pay for the last six months. The current rate of TalkTalk SimplyBroadband is £3.50/month, so assuming prices don’t go up by then, you’ll only have to pay a total of £21 on top of line rental.

Check out the latest cheap broadband bundles from Sky and PlusnetTo sweeten the deal, TalkTalk is also throwing in a £50 Love2Shop voucher thrown in when you sign up online.

TalkTalk said: “We have helped drive down the average price of broadband dramatically, benefiting not only our 4 million customers, but allowing consumers today to pay nearly half of what they did then, whilst also getting more for their money.

“TalkTalk continues to offer Britain’s lowest priced packages and is the only UK broadband provider that offers totally unlimited broadband for all packages.”

If the 17Mbps internet isn’t fast enough for you, you are able to boost it with FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) broadband for an additional £5/month, or add Essentials TV for £4.25/month. If you want to widen the selection of TV channels, choose the Plus TV upgrade for just £9.25/month.

Additionally, TalkTalk offers HomeSafe for families, designed to prevent your kids viewing inappropriate websites by blocking those deemed unsuitable. It also protects your computer against viruses and you can set up access limits when your kids are using the computer to do their homework.
