Residents and visitors can jack in to the free wireless network simply by searching for ‘allpay’ on their laptops, mobiles and tablets. There’s a one-time login process, similar to how you’d register on networks like The Cloud and Virgin Media’s WiFi networks. After you’ve logged in once, you should be able to automatically hop on to the network every time you’re in Hereford Town Centre.
Councillor Graham Powell, Cabinet Member for Education and Infrastructure at Herefordshire Council, said: “We are pleased to announce that through a partnership with Allpay we are able to provide wireless broadband coverage across Hereford City centre. A service that will enhance the city centre experience for visitors and residents.”
Lisa Howell, Allpay’s Broadband Manager, commented: “We’re delighted to be able to offer the free Wi-Fi service to the people of Herefordshire. Free access to the internet is an added benefit to those visiting High Town.”
Allpay Broadband is based in Hereford and had set up an extensive wireless broadband network in and around the town.
