Freeview has found its first TV channels dedicated to reality TV and macho movies with the arrival of CBS Reality and Movies4Men.
CBS Reality is on Freeview channel 66 and Movies4Men on channel 48, with viewers in Manchester also be able to tune into Movies4Men+1 at channel 50, broadcast on the city’s local Freeview multiplex.
CBS Reality claims to be the first channel on Freeview to air 100 per cent reality programming, featuring Judge Judy, Dog & Beth: On the Hunt and Donal MacIntyre: Murder in Paradise.
Tanya Gugenheim, chief of business development at Chello Zone, said: “We are thrilled CBS Reality will be added to the DTT platform as the audiences for both are incredibly well matched. The channel is the ratings leader in our CBS Chello Zone Partnership portfolio and will no doubt be compelling viewing for Freeview customers.”
Movies4Men, which bills itself as a film channel dedicated to supplying non-stop entertainment for the male audience, has classic man-tertainment titles including Saints and Soldiers, Man About Town, Fort Apache and She Wore a Yellow Ribbon.
Guy North, marketing communications director at Freeview, said: “We’re delighted that CBS Reality will be joining the existing line up of channels on Freeview, bringing viewers even more choice of subscription-free entertainment.”
CBS Chello Zone advised viewers that it may be necessary to retune their digital receivers in order to get the channel.
