GoPro channel grinds its way into the Roku Channel Store

The official GoPro channel has launched for Roku Channel Store players.

If you enjoy watching folk do crazy stuff with cameras strapped to their heads, then the new GoPro channel, which has just been added to the Roku Store, should do the trick.

The channel promises to serve up the best first-person content around, letting Roku users watch folks jump out of aeroplanes, bomb around on mountain bikes or swim with sharks

Users in the UK, Ireland, US and Canada will be able to add the channel to their streaming box for free and take in content filmed with the world’s most famous wearable camera. Clips will show what model of GoPro was used to film the content you’re viewing and what accessories were used to capture footage too, so you’ll be able to go out and buy the right kit to make your own movies too.

The channel will also let users log in with their GoPro account deets to see their favourite videos and recently watched clips, as well as featured playlists.

“We’re incredibly excited to bring the action-packed videos created by the GoPro community to the Roku streaming platform,” said Ed Lee, vice president of content at Roku.

“Roku delivers an experience that our customers truly love, and I know that they’re going to be captivated by the inspiring new content available to them with the launch of the GoPro channel this spring.”
