Bournemouth-based provider of 1Gbps fibre broadband Gigler has announced that it’s been running trials with local businesses to demonstrate the power of its next-gen services.
Local firms are eager to get an edge on the competition and so have responded enthusiastically to the trial.
Mark Worthington, director of UK Sweets, an online confectionery wholesaler based in the city says: “Without a consistent and quality service it was hard trying to run a business using digital media. Calls would drop and our site would be offline which is extremely damaging to reputation and profit.”
“Since getting Gigler, the incredible download speeds mean we can now give our clients a level of service that exceeds their expectations; coupled with the equally fast upload speeds also means easy and instant uploads to our sites.”
Free fibre broadband on a trial basis sounds like a sweet deal – how much will the Gigler Business Broadband deals cost once they’re live though?
The idea is to eventually launch a business-grade version of Gigler’s residential packages that are available to over 20,000 Bournemouth homes.
Gigler’s current services provide download speeds of 1Gbps, upload speeds of 500Mbps, super-low latency (10ms on average) as standard. Right now Gigler only offers pure broadband services – there’s currently no landline call package – and doesn’t offer things like VPN or webspace.
Gigler residental broadband prices begin at £25/month for 1Gbps downloads and an 80GB monthly cap. To get unlimited downloads, you’ll need the £50/monthly package.
When the trial is finished and the products are ready for launch, we’ll update with the details on Gigler Business Broadband as and when we get them.
