Want the best that Sky TV has to offer but don’t want it, can’t afford it, or can’t get a dish fitted where you’re currently living? Then Now TV should be right up your alley.
Now TV is an on-demand streaming video service for people who don’t want a traditional monthly subscription, or a contract that has Sky at the top.
There’s no obligation to sign up for longer than a month, no connection fee or lengthy installation process.
With Now TV you get the choice of either Sky entertainment content - including Game of Thrones, Mad Men, True Detective, Broadchurch, Wayward Pines, Sons of Anarchy, Penny Dreadful, Fortitude and more - all 11 Sky Movies channels plus an 800+ strong movie library and access to all seven Sky Sports channels, giving you live Premier League football, Rugby League, Formula 1 racing and more.
As well as watching content on a catch-up basis, you also have the option of streaming live TV shows, movies and sports content on your phone, tablet, desktop or TV.
The only main drawback of Now TV is that content library refreshes pretty quickly - stuff doesn’t stick around for long, so if you see something you want to watch, don’t let it sit there. The maximum streaming quality also peaks at 720p. Even if you’ve got sufficient bandwidth, there’s no way for you to enjoy any Now TV content in 1080p Full HD or even 4K Ultra HD, even if you’ve got an expensive, high-bandwidth broadband service that’d allow you to do that.
This may change with the launch of the forthcoming Now TV Box, but for now, 720p HD is as good as it gets on Now TV.
