Kaleidescape movie player offers 50 owners free films for Xmas

Movie server firm Kaleidescape is offering new customers buying one of its Cinema One player 50 free movies worth £500, until the end of this year.

The Cinema One costs around £3,295 and, so claims the company, offers a home cinema experience without the expense of a custom installed audio-visual system.

The Cinema One can store up to 600 DVD or 100 Blu-ray quality movies on its internal hard drive. It stores the data without any loss of information in Blu-ray or DVD quality.

The films can be downloaded from the company’s Kaleidescape Store. It claims that its store is the only one that supports Blu-ray quality movie downloads. The machine also knows exactly where a feature film starts, so viewers go straight to the picture, with no previews, menus, or ads to keep them from enjoying their movie instantly.

It also said the machine starts a movie faster than any Blu-ray player in the world.

As reported by Recombu, the devcie can also be controlled via an app for the iPad (with an Android app in the offing), which either mirrors the on-screen menus or simply works as a remote control.

You can find films by searching through titles, genres, actors, directors, dates and ratings or use the dynamic covers view to select a favourite film, and Cinema One will find similar films in your collection that you might enjoy.

“With the inclusion of 50 free movies, Cinema One is the perfect gift to create great family memories during the holiday season,” said Michael Malcolm, founder, chairman and CEO of Kaleidescape. “With Cinema One, families can select from thousands of true HD- and SD-quality movies from the Kaleidescape Store, where they can find old treasures or enjoy new releases, and experience superior quality that can be seen and heard.”
