Lovefilm is seeking budding short film directors to create their 15 seconds of fame with a promo for its Norse swords-and-seamen drama Vikings.
Instagram Video is the latest micro-movie app to hit smartphones, enabling users to create 15-second video clips for sharing on the visual social network.
Vikings fans can submit their trailers and story summaries via Twitter, using the hashtag #lovefilmtinytrailers, for the Lovefilm judges to weigh up for entry to video Valhalla. Their favourite will win a year’s subscription to Lovefilm.

“We want Britain’s film and TV fans to be as creative, silly or as over-the-top as they want. They can get their gran involved as an extra, their sibling as a villain, or even their cat.
“Whatever they do, we are looking for the brilliance and epic storylines of Vikings to come across in their #LOVEFiLMTinyTrailers.”
Starring Travis Fimmel, Gabriel Byrne and Katheryn Winnick, Vikings follows the exploits of the legendary Norseman Ragnar Lothbrok, scourge of England and France.
All nine episodes of season one are available to watch online through Lovefilm Instant, online or iOS, Android (Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD only) and console (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and Wii U) apps. Lovefilm Instant costs £4.99/month.
