Netflix brings the Lilyhammer down again for a third exclusive season

Mob-themed fish-out-of-water show Lilyhammer is set to return for a third exclusive series on Netflix later this year.

The comic drama sees E Street Band guitarist and Sopranos star Steven Van Zandt fill the shoes of ex-gangster Frank ‘The Fixer’ Tagliano who has been moved to the Norwegian town of Lillehammer after entering the federal witness protection programme.

The show continues with Frank living under the alias of Johnny Henriksen, a successful nightclub owner and father of two.

As if life couldn’t get more complicated than balancing fatherhood with running a criminal operation, everything Frank cares for is threatened when his former mob associates find out he is still alive.

Ted Sarandos, chief content officer at Netflix said: “We are proud to bring back Lilyhammer for a third season.

Lilyhammer is the type of global show that Netflix members around the world have discovered and love and season three will see that world expand even more.”

Season two of the show arrived on Netflix in the UK and Ireland last December.

The show started in February 2012 on Netflix as one of its first forays into original programming, alongside House of Cards and Orange is the New Black
