New look Sky Go hits iOS, Android, coming to Xbox 360 soon

Sky has updated Sky Go for iOS and Android, bringing a fresh new look to phones, tablets and TV screens.

The new design comes with bigger thumbnail images and an easier to navigate layout which promises to make finding On Demand shows easier.

Xbox 360 owners can expect a new-look Sky Go with a design that’s more consistent with Microsoft’s tile-based interface seen on the Xbox Dashboard, Windows 8 and Windows Phone. This is expected to arrive in August, but Sky isn’t giving a solid arrival date yet.

The Sky’s the limit: With Sky Go you can watch programmes and on-demand content on two extra devices

Read Recombu Digital’s guide to Sky Go “We’re making it easier to find something great to watch when out and about and at the same time giving our customers even more choice about different screens to watch on,” Sky’s director of TV products Luke Bradley-Jones said last month

“It’s all part of our commitment to offer the best TV and the best ways to watch, giving our customers even more choice and flexibility from their Sky TV.”

Sky Go is a free service that lets Sky TV subscribers access their channels away from the front room on laptops, PCs, games consoles and mobile devices. Right now, customers can access up to 39 channels through Sky Go. Recent additions include Channel 4, More 4, Cartoon Network, DisneySyFy and Universal

With Sky Go, you get to watch your Sky channels on up to two extra devices. Sky Go Extra gives you the option to watch on up to four extra screens and costs £5/month.

Update: We’ve corrected the title from earlier which wrongly stated that the Xbox 260 update was out today.
