Nintendo has officially launched the SNES Classic Mini, which delivers 21 of the finest Super Nintendo games to your home TV. Here’s the full list of games you can play on the mini Classic SNES, including one particularly exciting and exclusive inclusion.
Officially known as the ‘Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System’, this compact version of the original SNES console is the spiritual successor to the NES Classic Mini. You get 21 games built in, along with two wired Super NES Classic Controllers which mimic the joypads from the full-sized console. That means you can challenge your family to bitter Street Fighter duels, right out of the box.
We’ve already compiled our list of 12 essential features that we really hope the SNES Classic Mini comes packing. So far we’re yet to see if some of these – such as longer cables on the bloody controllers – will actually be delivered. However, we’re already excited by that full games line-up.
One entry in particular has us foaming at the lips. For the first time ever, the abandoned Star Fox 2 will be available to play in full. This space sim sequel was canned because the N64 was about to hit stores, which is a massive shame because we can’t get enough of this series. Expect a couple of new characters, new ships and improved graphics over the original title – which is also available to play on the SNES Classic Mini, of course.
Alongside the Star Fox titles, you can also play Donkey Kong Country, A Link to the Past, Mega Man X and of course some great Mario games. So much for stepping outside between the console’s launch (September 29) and Christmas 2017.
