Pornhub, one of the web’s biggest pornography video sharing sites, has released data on browsing habits of the UK’s flesh fans, fingering the sleepy Hertfordshire town of Ware as the grubbiest place in the country.
According to the hard figures from offshot organisation Pornhub Insights, residents of the town spent on average 10 minutes 37 seconds on the site and viewed 7.55 pages on average.
The mean time for the whole of the UK was 9 minutes 42 seconds, while the typical British Pornhub user was likely to view 6.8 pages on average.
Inquisitive residents of Billingshurst, West Sussex spent the least time on the site and viewed the least amount of pages, mustering just 8 minutes 41 seconds and viewing 5.55 pages on average.
Residents of Chester spent on average 9 minutes and 51 seconds on Pornhub and viewed 6.64 pages – either from the comfort of their bedrooms or sat in the Catherdral.
The data also shows that residents of Sheffield, while not spending as long on Pornhub (9 minutes 6 seconds) as most, they’re likely to view more than the average number of clips (7.3).
A Pornhub spokesperson said: “People in Sheffield, England are very efficient, managing to view a little more than 7 pages or videos in only 9 minutes.
“People in London, on the other hand watch around 6.6 videos, but they like to take their time, staying on the site almost 10 minutes.”
The data also revealed that most residents of the South Yorkshire city also have a preference for a particular sex act. The top five search terms across most cities in the UK were either ‘British’ or ‘Lisa Ann,’ an actress perhaps most famous for starring in Sarah Palin porn parody Who’s Nailin’ Paylin? Sheffielders bucked the trend, racking up ‘Cumshot,’ ‘Milf’ and ‘Facial’ in their top three.
Other regional anomalies included many Scottish browsers looking for smoking fetish clips and Liverpudlians after films with a teacher theme.
Pornhub launched in 2007 and is based in Montreal, Canada. Unlike UK-based porn streaming sites, it is beyond the jurisdiction of bodies like ATVOD. The site is free to access, which puts a spanner in the works of regulators who want to block credit card payments to adult streaming sites.
