Racing UK unveils pay-per-day on Freeview

Horse racing channel Racing UK has launched a pay-per-day service to Freeview viewers.

Punters can sign up for 24-hour access to horseracing for £4.99. The service will be available on internet-enabled Freeview TVs and set-top boxes on channel 231. The channel said that the service comes with no contract, set-up costs or installation.

The service features interactive racecards, form, SPs and results. Pay Per Day is for an initial trial period and allows viewers to be flexible and pinpoint specific racedays to view without being tied into a longer-term contract.

The launch of the service coincides with the first day of racing at Newmarket, which is exclusive to Racing UK and features the Group Three Somerville Tattersall Stakes.

Clive Cottrell, Director of Marketing at Racing UK, said: “The launch of Pay Per Day offers great value and commitment-free access to Racing UK. We have some fantastic upcoming racing with the Flat season heading to a climax and the Jumps season proper just around the corner.”

“Only five per cent of racing is on terrestrial TV, which means Racing UK offers a host of top-class exclusive action, starting with the opening card of today’s Cambridgeshire meeting.”

“You can start watching immediately and should be perfect for those people who like to dip in and dip out.”
