Samsung to bring Netflix 4K content to the UK

Samsumg has confirmed that it will launch a 4K starter pack for viewers with its Ultra-HD TVs in the UK and Europe this March.

The manufacturer will also throw in access to 4K content via Netflix.

Samsung will offer a 1TB hard drive for £250 that comes pre-loaded with fifty UHD movies ready to watch. The firm will also offer new movie downloads throughout the year. The offering was announced at Samsung’s European forum. The launch is part of the company’s drive to boost 4K adoption and sell a load of new UHD TVs as well.

It predicted that sales of UHD TV would pass the one million mark by 2014. The firm wants to see around three million such TVs in people’s homes by 2017.

“Samsung is making sure that customers have access to 4K content,” said Michael Zoller, senior director of European Sales and Marketing, at the Samsung European Forum, reported Tech Radar.

“We will offer a 360 degree UHD solution. This will include Netflix from March and our UHD video pack – which will include Life of Pi and Star Trek.”

As reported by Recombu, Netflix has shot the second series of its award winning political drama House of Cards in 4K.
