Users of Plusnet and Entanet in Scotland have been struggling to connect to the web thanks to the snow spell that’s currently gripping the country.
Error messages posted on both provider’s sites last night showed that there has been service outages on the BT network in Scotland.
The summary posted on Entanet’s site read: “BT are currently experiencing a Serious Incident to their network impacting broadband service across all providers in the Scotland (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Carluke & Dunfermline) area. As a result CPs may be experiencing a loss of service. They are investigating the incident and aim to restore service as a matter of urgency.”
Plusnet, which also uses the BT network, posted a similar message on its service status page.
This morning however, Plusnet updated with news that the service issues had been resolved. Presumably this means that Entanet subscribers on the BT network ought to be able to reconnect too; there’s been no updates on Entanet’s site however.
Plusnet customers in Northern Ireland also suffered some downtime last night, though it looks this was due to an equipment change and not the powdery white stuff.
