Sky Go for Android redesign paves way for ‘play next episode’ Box Set binging

Sky has revamped the user interface of its Sky Go Android app and desktop player.

As well as bringing a new landscape-oriented UI and a fresh coat of paint, the new-look Sky Go will eventually host a string of new features including a ‘play next episode’ tool.

This could mean that by the time the sixth run of Game of Thrones lands in April, Sky customers will be able to binge their way through previous episodes and seasons.

Sky’s director of product development Michele Swaine said: “This is just the start of a really exciting year for Sky Go – an app that’s led the way in watching on the go and loved by millions of people around the UK.

“Both the redesign rolling out today and brilliant new features coming later this year are all part of our commitment to making finding the best TV brilliantly simple. So grab your phone or tablet, log in, and enjoy your favourite TV wherever you are.”

You can download the new Sky Go app for Android from Google Play now. The Sky Go desktop player requires Silverlight to run, so you won’t be able to watch it through Chrome, but it will work on Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari for Windows and Mac.
