Sky Sports has announced a spectacular kick off to the upcoming Premier League season by opting to broadcast free games on Sky 2 and Pick TV.
Sky 2 and Pick TV will show live Premier League games on Saturday August 17, the day the next season begins.
Sky 2 is on Sky, Virgin Media and TalkTalk TV and Pick TV, formerly known as Sky 3, is available on Freeview, Freesat, Sky, Virgin Media, YouView and TalkTalk TV.
Read Recombu Digital’s guide How to watch Sky SportsThis means that every home in Britain will be able to watch Sky’s first Premier League match free of charge. The free day will also include Sky’s new show, Saturday Night Football, starring David Jones and Jamie Redknapp.
Former Liverpool and England midfielder and Sky Sports pundit Redknapp said: “There’s so much to look forward to with the new football season including more live Premier League matches on Sky than ever before. This is a brilliant way for everyone to follow the action from first day of the Premier League season with Sky Sports.”

The free day will commence at 10:00AM and finish at 8:00PM.
As well as the first Premier League game which kicks off at 5:30PM, Saturday’s coverage will include the aforementioned Saturday Night Football and FL72 LIVE, Sky’s new showcase for the best matches from the Football League, presented by Simon Thomas.
