Sky Sports highlights have landed on Sky Go, giving sports fans the chance to relive missed games, test matches and races online and on iPhone and iPad.
June 6: Sky Sports highlights are now also available on supported Android devices.
The highlights will sit in the On Demand section of the Sky Go app and currently include footage from the Monaco Grand Prix, the latest England–New Zealand cricket tests from Headingley and the recent England-Barbarians rugby game.
Read Recombu Digital’s guide to Sky GoDavid Gibbs, Director of Sky Sports Digital Media, commented: “The addition of Sky Sports highlights into Sky Go is a great new feature for sports fans. Coupled with the existing option to catch all the action live on the move, this gives people even more flexibility and yet another way to ensure they never miss a moment of their favourite sports action this summer.”
There’s some slight bad news. Android fans will have to wait a while before highlights touch down on Sky Go on Google Play.
Sky Go for Android is available on a wide range of high-end Android devices including the HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Sony Xperia Z. Sky Go works on most phones and tablets running Android 2.2 Froyo up to 4.2.1 Jelly Bean. There’s a problem right now with Motorola RAZRi’s that have updated to the latest version of Android that’s being looked at the moment. Sky Go also won’t work on rooted phones or tablets, for security reasons.
