Sky unveiled new fashion icon set-top boxes

Sky’s satellite receivers have got a fashion makeover in time for Christmas with a limited edition collection for the new Sky+HD 2TB box with built-in Wi-Fi.

Fashion designers Roland Mouret and Giles Deacon, style icon Sophie Dahl and men’s fashion rising star Kit Neale have designed the boxes. The exclusive collection will go on sale from today.

The devices themselves are the latest and greatest of the Sky boxes with built-in Wi-Fi, for access to Catch Up TV and TV box sets via On Demand from Sky.

Sky said the designs tie in with the designers’ favourite shows. Sophie’s design inspired by her love of romance, and Roland taking gritty contemporary drama as his muse. Kit has captured his love for the great outdoors taking creative inspiration from nature documentaries, whilst Giles focuses on animation with a fun and contemporary design inspired by Disney’s style icon Minnie Mouse.

Luke Bradley-Jones, brand director of TV Products at BSkyB, said: “To celebrate our new Sky+HD 2TB box with built-in Wi-Fi, we wanted to bring to life the content now available On Demand. The service offers something for everyone including romantic and magical drama, a host of Disney movies and fascinating nature documentaries. The limited edition designer boxes represent the fantastic variety of TV that you can watch with Sky On Demand.”
