Smart TV Tuesday: Red Bull TV charges into Samsung homes

Red Bull TVWhether it’s Mark Webber, Sebastian Vettell, extreme sports or staying up late, Red Bull’s app on Samsung TVs is a window on the brand’s high-octane world.

Red Bull TV brings the world of sports, urban lifestyle, music, games, pop culture and live events into the homes of viewers, with both live events and video-on-demand.

It’s accessed through the Smart Hub on Samsung Smart TVs, many of Smasung’s Blu-ray players, home theatre systems, and the forthcoming Freeview HD STB-E7900 and E7500 recorders.

Guy Kinnell, Marketing Director for TV, Samsung UK, said: “The new Red Bull app brings even more exciting extreme sports action to our Smart TV range. This complements our existing 3D action sports content from Red Bull found on Samsung’s Explore 3D app.

“This year will be a massive year for UK sport and we’re very excited that Red Bull has brought yet another exciting reason for consumers to maximise their enjoyment of Samsung Smart TV.”

Red Bull TV will join an ever-growing collection of services available on Samsung Smart TVs such as BBC iPlayer, LOVEFiLM, Netflix, YouTube, Teletext Holidays, Rightmove, Thomson Local, Facebook and Twitter, giving viewers a huge choice of content for the television.

Samsung Apps is the first and biggest App store available for TVs, with almost 20 million Apps already downloaded worldwide, proof that consumers are rapidly embracing the Smart TV format.
