TankTop Movies opens on-demand video finder to all

Video on demand movie finder TankTop has opened its visual search engine to all users after months of beta testing.

The full launch includes improvements to pricing information, image quality, and filtering based on user recommendations.

TankTop lets you create a wishlist of films from an infinite catalogue of movie artwork, and shows you where to find it across free, subscription, and pay-as-you-go services.

Read Recombu Digital’s guide to finding film and TV shows in on-demand servicesTankTop told users: “There’s clearly room for improvement, and there’s a long list of your suggestions that we haven’t implemented yet, but we believe you’re telling us that Tank Top Movies is good enough to remove the invitation code from the front page.

“There’s a lot more work to do, and we still consider the site to be in open beta, but we intend Tank Top Movies to be the best film discovery service on the planet. Please keep the feedback rolling in, and we’ll continue to make it better and better!”

Searches include the BBC iPlayer, LoveFilm, Now TV, BT On Demand, iTunes, Google Play, Xbox, BlinkBox, Film4oD, Sky Go and Virgin TV, but not Netflix, which recently asked for its data to be removed.

You have a watchlist which can be shared via social media, filters for different movie genres, and you can launch straight into the movie with services with web-based players.
