Tesco’s Clubcard TV snaps up BBC comedy, drama, children’s classics and cookery

Antonio Carluccio, Goodness Gracious Me and Blackpool have joined the library of Tesco’s Clubcard TV in a deal with BBC Worldwide.

The deal adds hundreds of hours of comedy, drama, children’s classics and cookery to the free service for Clubcard members.

TV chefs Ken Hom and Gary Rhodes can now be found alongside Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps, Alistair McGowan’s Big Impression, Carrie’s War, Stig Of The Dump and The Secret Garden.

Read more about Blinkbox and Clubcard TVClubcard TV boss Scott Deutrom said: “With this deal we’re adding a raft of new TV titles to our expanding catalogue, providing access to even more great digital entertainment in a way that’s easy and accessible for customers.”

The service is only open to Tesco Clubcard members, who experience adverts targeted around their shopping habits, plucked from their member profiles.

By ‘only’, we mean more than 16 million people, who can also watch thousands of TV episodes and movies following deals with the likes of Aardman, Endemol and Warner Bros.

It’s available on PC and Mac, with games consoles, tablets, smart TVs, Blu-ray players and digital TV boxes targeted for later this year.

Tesco and Blinkbox have a busy year ahead, wtih music and video extensions of the blinkbox brand set to roll out, and Clubcard-friendly versions expected to march alongside them.
