To celebrate the arrival of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy on LoveFilm, the video streaming service will be hosting a live online Q&A session with director Tomas Alfredson and screenwriter Peter Straughan.
Subscribers can stream the film on a split screen while watching the director and screenwriter give a commentary in real time, with fans able to shoot questions in the chatroom, or on Facebook or Twitter.
This next-level bit of two screen viewing is one of the fruits of LoveFilm’s distribution deal with StudioCanal inked last September. Though a one off, it paves the way for similar live streams of films with one-off interactive commentaries.
LoveFilm has been busy doing deals with the likes of Universal and most recently 20th Century Fox. Hopefully we’ll get to see Q&A sessions with Ridley Scott when Prometheus eventually touches down on LoveFilm.
While there’s plenty of ways to download and stream films (not all of them legit, obviously), LoveFilm’s launch of this Q&A could prove a draw for more devoted fans.
The Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy livestream starts at 8pm tonight, accessed here at LoveFilm’s site.
