Virgin Media broadband, mobile, TV and home phone come together in new Big Bundles

Virgin Media has taken the wraps off of its Big Bundles, the latest package deals which let you take out broadband, mobile, TV and home phone services from the cable company.

Two bundles, the ‘Big Bang’ and the ‘Big Kahuna’, cost £35 and £50 respectively, are available exclusively to existing Virgin customers now – new customers will be able to sign up from the end of May.

The £35/month Big Bang bundle gives you up to 100Mbps broadband, Virgin Media TiVo, a home phone package and a Virgin mobile SIM giving you unlimited texts and minutes and 250MB of data.

That IS a tasty burger: Virgin Media’s Big Bundles make it large with the broadband, phones, TV – and fries

The £50/month Big Kahuna – possibly named after the burger Samuel L Jackson eats in Pulp Fiction – combines Virgin Media’s fastest consumer broadband service – up to 152MbpsVirgin Media TiVo with a TV package combining 230 channels (plus 40 HD channels). As well as this, you get a home phone service and the same mobile deal thrown in.

Dana Strong, chief operating officer at Virgin Media said: “Our fantastic new bundles deliver unprecedented value as standard. For the first time, households will be able to get the best broadband together with the UK’s best value mobile SIM, as part of a bundle perfectly tailored to the customer’s needs.”

While Virgin Media has offered all four services to customers in the past, this deal marks the first time that Virgin’s SIM-only plan has been launched with broadband, TV and home phone. These SIM-only deals, offering unlimited minutes and messages, will be exclusive to the Big Bundles.

These two package deals are just the beginning; Virgin Media is set to announce more bundles soon, with the 50Mbps broadband product being the standard speed offered to customers.

Currently the entry-level Virgin broadband service will give you download speeds of up to 30Mbps. Virgin Media is in the process of upgrading its network, bumping 30Mbps customers up to 50Mbps, 60Mbps customers up to 100Mbps and 120Mbps customers up to 152Mbps.

As the deals also throw a Virgin Media TiVo box into the bargain, you’ll also be able to make use of Virgin TV Anywhere. This lets you watch channels online or on your phone or tablet (iOS and Android) while you’re connected to WiFi.

If you don’t want a Virgin mobile SIM with their bundle, you can opt to drop this from the Big Bang and Big Kahuna. The bundle prices will drop to £30/month and £45/month respectively, saving you a fiver a month or £60 a year.

Both the bundles are 18 months long and the cost of a Virgin Phone Line (£15.99/month) is not included.

Here’s how all the prices break down, with or without a Virgin SIM, and with the line rental.
