Virgin Media mobile customers can now use over 22,000 Cloud WiFi hotspots.
Thanks to a deal with the Sky-owned WiFi network, Virgin Media customers can get online for free on the go.
Cloud hotspots are available across the UK in high street chains including WHSmith, Greggs, Pret, Wagamama, PizzaExpress and Caffè Nero as well as First Great Western and Network Rail stations.
Virgin Media’s director of mobile Annie Brooks said, “We want our customers to have the best possible data connection, wherever they are.
“Working with The Cloud, Virgin Mobile customers will get WiFi internet access in lots of popular retail stores, bars, hotels, stadiums and other venues across the country. Being able to offer such widespread data connectivity for people while they are on the go is increasingly important, as is ensuring the experience is seamless and simple to use.”
Access to the Cloud is free for all Sky Broadband customers, who can log in with with their Sky ID. Non-Sky customers can also pay for Cloud Unlimited access which costs £6.95/month for a single device or £9.95/month for multiple devices. If you’ve got an iPod Touch you can get online for £3.95/month.
Virgin Media mobile customers can get onto the Cloud by using the WiFi Buddy Android app which authenticates your Virgin SIM card. This means you’ll also be able to get online automatically without having to sign in every time.
The Cloud is also available across London’s Square Mile and over 50 London Overground train stations. Virgin Media runs a WiFi network that covers 150 stations and is available to O2, EE, Vodafone, Three and Virgin Mobile customers.
