Virgin Media has launched a YouTube service on channel 198 for its TiVo customers.
While not a ‘channel’ in the traditional sense, by hopping over to channel 198, you’ll be able to access a YouTube app instead of having to look for it the Apps and Games section.
So if you’re sitting down with friends and family you can quickly load up YouTube on Virgin Media TiVo and share in the glory of the latest Gangnam Style Harlem Shake mash up.
This marks the first time that YouTube has arrived on a programme guide in the UK. Despite some rumours doing the rounds last week, Freesat is not launching a YouTube channel.
As well as this, Virgin Media has populated the My Shows and Search and Browse areas of its TiVo service with YouTube clips and channels.
Francisco Varela, Global Director Platform Partnerships at YouTube said: “We’re always looking for new ways to bring the exciting content generated by our creator community to viewers and are delighted that the YouTube app now has a place in Virgin Media’s channel listings.”
YouTube on Virgin Media TiVo sits between CBS Drama (196) and Yesterday (203) on the programme guide.
